Dedifferentiated Paratesticular Liposarcoma with Osseous Metaplasia

چکیده
Paratesticular liposarcoma is a rare tumour of the genitourinary track but the most common of all sarcomas in adults. The dedifferentiated variation occurs only in 10% of liposarcoma cases. The typical clinical presentation is similar to an inguinal hernia or a benign lipoma. We present the case of a dedifferentiated paratesticular liposarcoma with osseous metaplasia of the spermatic cord, in a male presented with acute scrotum.

Atypical lipomatous tumor with unusual extensive metaplastic ossification
The presence of metaplastic ossification within atypical lipomatous tumor/well-differentiated liposarcoma (ALT/WDLPS) is a rare occurrence. When present, bone formation is most often found in association with a dedifferentiated component arising within the primary tumor. It is important for the radiologist not only to recognize the differential diagnosis of a calcified or ossified soft tissue m...
متن کاملRecurrent dedifferentiated paratesticular liposarcoma with synchronous renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer.
Paratesticular liposarcoma is a very rare cause of scrotal mass. It is thought that they arise from spermatic cord lipomas most commonly. While well differentiated tumors tend to share many histological similarities with dedifferentiated tumors, the latter has a much more aggressive phenotype. We present an unusual case of a 69-year-old male with synchronous prostate adenocarcinoma and unilater...

Primary tumors of the paratesticular region are rare, with paratesticular sarcomas constituting a major proportion of these tumors, particularly in the elderly. The paratesticular region consists of mesothelial, various epithelial and mesenchymal cells and may therefore give rise to a number of tumors with various behaviors. Defining the association between the paratesticular mass and the testi...

UNLABELLED Paratesticular liposarcoma is a rare neoplasm, described in single case studies or components of larger studies, as histologically well-differentiated liposarcoma (WDL) and dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DL). However, leiomyosarcomatous differentiation is an extremely rare occurrence in WDL and DL. We report a case of leiomyosarcomatous differentiation in a 77-year-old man. The patien...
متن کاملScrotal liposarcoma – a rare extratesticular tumour
Scrotal and inguinal masses are common patient complaints that prove diagnostically challenging due to the multiple anatomic structures found in the confined space of the scrotum. History and adequate examination is the cornerstone in diagnosing scrotal pathology. Ultrasonography is the principle radiologic study used to evaluate scrotal masses. This can locate the site of a mass, and different...
